BENGALURU: A day after the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police decided to launch a hunt for history-sheeter ‘Silent’ Sunil, who was seen sharing the stage with some BJP leaders at a blood donation camp on Sunday, his lawyer visited the CCB office on Wednesday an informed the officials that they cannot detain him without prior notice.

The speculation now is whether the police will rethink their strategy in going after him.

Following the meeting, Sunil’s advocate Pramod Chandra told the media, “The Karnataka High Court has issued directives to the Home Secretary and Additional Director General of Police, Alok Kumar on April 28, 2019, that if Sunil is required to be questioned in any of the cases, the police station concerned should issue summons with prior notice. Sunil must present himself before the officials at the specified time. He should extend his cooperation for any inquiry. They cannot arrest him without notice, because there is no complaint against him now”.

‘Silent’ Sunil’s lawyer Pramod Chandra met the CCB officials on Wednesday.

After an uproar over why the police did not arrest the most wanted history-sheeter when he surfaced at the blood donation camp held at Chamarajpet on Sunday, the CCB police formed three teams to trace him. They also conducted raids at his Amrutahalli apartment, at his friend’s house, searched a park and other places.

Now, the police have clarified on why they did not arrest him, stating that they are not looking for him in any case.

On November 23, the CCB police raided the houses of 86 rowdies in the city, but Sunil was not at home at that time. He was later traced to Tamil Nadu and it was revealed that he was using his wife’s phone to contact others.
