On Wednesday night, a local family ordered three ice creams — two mango and one butterscotch. When Brendan Ferrao, the compalainant’s brother, bit into the butterscotch ice cream, he felt something unusual in his mouth. Upon looking more closely, he discovered to his horror a severed human finger embedded inside the icecream cone.

The family, deeply disturbed by the find, immediately informed the Malad Police. The police have registered a case against company under IPC Sections 272 (adulteration of food or drink intended for sale), 273 (sale of harmful food or drink), and 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others). Police have sent the human organ found in the ice cream to the forensic laboratory, Malad police said.

Senior Police Inspector Ravi Adane stated that an investigation is underway to determine how the finger ended up in the ice cream. A forensic analysis will provide further insights into the case. (ANI)
