BENGALURU: Two-and-half months after 47-year-old businessman Pradeep S, died allegedly after shooting himself in his car at Nettigere on January 1, the police are preparing to file a B-report in the case before court within a week after completing the investigation.
The Kaggalipura police recorded the statements of 20 people, including a two-page statement from Mahadevapura MLA Arvind Limbavali, who was named among the accused. In his statement, Limbavali said that he knew Pradeep as a businessman, but had no relation to him or his suicide. He stated that he had only suggested to Pradeep to sort out his financial disputes with his friends.
Police sources said that there is no clear evidence to prove Pradeep’s allegations in his death note. It was found that Limbavali did not pressure Pradeep in the financial dispute or provoke him to take the extreme step.
At present, the police have recorded the statements of the six accused including prime accused Gopi and MLA Arvind Limbavali. The police have also questioned Pradeep’s wife, parents and his friends but have not got any strong technical evidence related to the the death note.
Pradeep and Gopi were business partners and he had given Rs 90 lakh to Gopi to start a pub. However, Gopi had suffered losses inthe business during the lockdown and had told Pradeep about it. Pradeep later took back Rs 90 lakh from Gopi and insisted that he pay Rs 1 crore as profit.
Pradeep’s wife also stated that she did not have much information about Pradeep’s business and financial dealings with his friends.
