CHIKKABALLAPUR: After a controversy erupted in Sidlaghatta over Congress leader Rajeev Gowda’s alleged threat to the city municipal commissioner, Amrutha Gowda, two cases have been registered against him, but he remains at large, evading arrest.
The police are intensifying their search for Congress leader Rajeev Gowda, but despite an FIR being registered more 36 hours ago, he remains at large. The police have checked CCTV footage in several locations, including Bengaluru and Indiranagar, but Rajeev Gowda seems to have gone underground, switching off his two phones.
The police have also visited Rajeev Gowda’s residence in Sanjay Nagar, Bengaluru, to serve the notice. His wife, Sahana Rajeev Gowda, was later issued the notice, asking her to cooperate with the investigation and urging Rajeev Gowda to surrender.

The incident has sparked protests from government employees and opposition parties, who are demanding Rajeev Gowda’s immediate arrest. The police are under pressure to apprehend him, and senior officials, including Police Superintendent Kushal Chowksy and DySP are camping at the Sidlaghatta police station to oversee the investigation.
Amrutha Gowda has stated that she has not received any apology or phone call from Rajev Gowda since the incident and is seeking legal action against him. Amrutha Gowda, spoke to Public TV about the controversy and said, “I haven’t received any phone call or apology from Rajeev Gowda since the incident. I want legal action to be taken against him,” she said.

Amrutha Gowda also expressed gratitude to everyone who has stood by her, including the DC and minister, who have given her words of encouragement. “We have forgotten the incident and are focusing on our work. The police will take necessary legal action”, she added.
The government employees’ association has staged a protest, demanding Rajeev Gowda’s arrest. Meanwhile, his supporters are defending him on social media, claiming he has done no wrong. They have launched a campaign, ‘We stand with Rajeev Gowda’, in a bid to garner support for their leader.
