BENGALURU: The city police have issued guidelines for property owners renting out their premises to foreign nationals. These guidelines require the landlords to submit the C Form to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) or Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), collect copies of the tenant’s passport and visa, and inform the local police station before renting out the property.
These guidelines are designed to ensure compliance with the law and maintain public safety. The guidelines aim to regulate the rental of properties to foreign nationals and ensure compliance with the law.
1. Landlords must submit the Form C to the FRO/FRRO.
2. Owner must collect copies of the tenant’s passport and visa.
3. Landlords must inform the local police station before renting out their property to foreign nationals.
4. Landlords must ensure that their tenants have a valid visa and permission to stay in the country.
5. Landlords must execute a registered rental agreement with their tenants.
6. They must provide information about their foreign tenants to the authorities. Failure to do so may result in legal action.
7. They must immediately report any suspicious activities by their tenants to the police.
