Police detect over 300 fake passes at Vidhana Soudha

BENGALURU: Following the incident where an aged man entered the Assembly hall even as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was presenting the budget, the police have tightened security at Vidhana Soudha. So far, they have detected over 200 fake passes which were used to enter the legislature building.

Following the case of Tipperudrappa, who entered the Vidhana Soudha without permission and occupied the seat of JD(S) MLA Karemma as the Assembly, security arrangements have been escalated in and around the Vidhana Soudha under Deputy Commissioner of Police (CCB) Dr Sharanappa.

After the security lapse, the police department took it seriously and are screening everyone who enters the Vidhana Soudha. During the screening, more than 340 fake passess were found in just four days, including coloured photostat copies of official passes, old and expired passes. The police also found fake passes on some vehicles.

The security personnel are conducting checks at all entry gates of the Vidhana Soudha and are keeping a close watch on trespassers. During the checking, the police came to know that some unknown people enter the building using colour copies of the passes given to MLAs, MLCs and the fake passes have been seized.

It is said that the fake passes are mostly used by supporters of politicians. Currently, the police have collected information about all those who were using fake passes. Some former MLAs, former MLCs were also using fake passes to get their jobs done. So far, more than 300 fake passes have been seized and the police are investigating the motive behind creating such fake passes.
