MANGALURU: The Kankanady police have arrested a constable attached to the Kavoor police station along with the husband of a victim of sexual abuse after she approached Police Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy with a complaint.
The arrested constable is Chandra Nayak while the husband of the victim is a builder. According to police sources, the victim has been married for a few years now, and the husband had recorded a private video of the woman with another man. With the video, he would blackmail his wife into having sexual relations with other men.
The woman was introducted to constable Chandra Nayak, who summoned the husband and got him to delete the video. He also got the couple to patch up. However, he got acquainted with the husband and would force the woman into having sexual relationship with him. Meanwhile, the husband too started blackmailing his wife again into having relations with other men, sources said.
Fed up of the repeated sexual abuse, the woman approached the police commissioner following which an FIR was filed at the Kankanady police station. The police are questioning the constable and the victim’s husband and further investigation is under way.
