BENGALURU: A police constable has been arrested for his alleged involvement in house breaking thefts along with other thieves, in the city. The arrested constable is Yellappa.
The constable was allegedly involved in three theft cases in Chandra Layout, Chikkajala and Jnana Bharati police limits. He would allegedly inform the other thieves about vacant houses and people living alone. He would help them in carrying out the thefts and take a share of the loot in return.
Yellappa was recently transferred to the Devanahalli police station. He was arrested by the Jnana Bharati police. Police Commissioner B Dayananda said the arrested constable has been handed over to judicial custody.
