BENGALURU: After a woman, who was at a weekend party with friends at a hotel in Kundalahalli, suffered serious injuries when she jumped from the fourth floor balcony in HAL (EACS) Layout on Saturday night, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has asked Whitefield DCP Parashuram to file a report in this regard. The critically injured woman’s condition remains serious and treatment is ongoing.
Eight people had booked four rooms at a private hotel in Kundalahalli on Saturday night. An unknown person called the emergency number 112 at 1 am, saying the group was drunk, playing loud songs and dancing. Based on that, police went to the room to inquire.
At that time, the frightened by police, the woman tried to descend from the balcony by holding on to a drainage pipe and fell down. The police claim they rescued the injured woman themselves and admitted her to the hospital and have also rejected allegations that they had demanded money from the youths who were partying.

Interestingly, there are no houses around the hotel, but only commercial buildings, giving rise to suspicion about who made the call to the emergency number to report disturbance. Besides, there is no DJ or TV in the rooms. Suspicions are also being raised whether the hotel staff called the police to threaten the youths and extort money.
