BENGALURU: With Karnataka headed for the Assembly polls in a few months, the BJP’s central leaders are already making a beeline to the state to ensure that the party returns to power.
After Union Home Minister Amith Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda’s visits to the state, it will be the turn of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Modi will visit Hubballi on January 12 while Yogi Adityanath will be visiting the state on January 23.
The Prime Minister will visit Hubballi and launch a host of programmes including inaugurating the five-day Yuvajanotsava, on January 12. More than 12,000 people will take participate in the programme. Various cultural event including a food festival and traditional programmes will be organised. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has also been invited to Yuvajanotsava.
Yogi Adityanath will visit the state on January 23 and will mainly visit Old Mysuru and some parts of the coastal districts. A huge BJP convention will be organised in Udupi and he will also address another rally at Ramanagara. Party leaders expect that Yogi Adityanath’s presence will help draw the attention of Vokkaligas in the Old Mysuru region.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the state on December 30 and 31 and addressed a rally at Mandya as the party looks to make inroads in the Old Mysuru region. The core Old Mysuru region consists of nine districts —Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru.
Similarly, BJP president J P Nadda visited the state on January 5 and 6. He participated in several programmes and party meetings in Tumakuru, Chitradurga and Davangere districts and even addressed a public rally.
