BENGALURU: The much-awaited Namma Metro service between KR Puram and Whitefield in the city will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 25.
The KR Puram-Whitefield line will be 13-km-long and will include atotal of 12 stations including KR Puram, Mahadevapura, Garudachar Palya, Hoodi Junction, Sitharama Palya, Kundahalli, Nallurahalli, Sathya Sai Hospital, Pattandur Agrahara, Kadugodi, Channasandra and Whitefield.
A total of seven trains will run on this route every 10 to 12 minutes and the fare on the route will still be Rs 35. It is expected that 1.2 lakh people will travel on the new route daily one it is operational. The travel time will be 22 minutes and the new Metro line will help save time and will help reduce traffic in this section.
Modi to hold mega roadshow in Bengaluru, visit 3 districts
While inaugurating the new Metro line, PM Modi is expected to focus on ‘Mission Bengaluru’. After the inauguration, Modi will be traveling in the Metro to target voters in the greater Bengaluru area. Also, it will be projected as a development project of the double-engine government.
In the upcoming Assembly election, the BJP has set a target of winning more than 20 seats in Bengaluru. After Amit Shah laid out the task for the state leaders and was not implemented on a visible scale even after a month, the BJP is now planning to project Brand Bengaluru with the development agenda in the forefront.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit three districts, including Davanagere, Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru Urban, days before the election is notified in the state, and lay the foundation stone for various projects. Roadshows will be held in Bengaluru and Davanagere during the visit.
