Plainclothes policemen attacked by thieves, 3 teams formed to nab attackers

RAICHUR: Two policemen in plainclothes, who had gone to arrest two thieves, were assaulted by a group of men, including the thieves, at Valmiki Circle in Maski on Monday evening. The two injured police constables of Balaganur police station are now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sindhanur.

Superintendent of Police Nikhil B, who visited the injured policemen in hospital, said three special police team has been formed to nab the attackers and expressed hope of nabbing the culprits soon.

“Constables Manjunath and Gopal of Balaganur police station were investigating a theft case which occurred in Sunkanur village. They spotted two youths moving around suspiciously and when they tried to question them, the duo pushed the constables and reached Maski. The policemen chased the youths, but were again attacked by a group of people, including the thieves. We have taken the case seriously and will nab the thieves soon”, the SP said.
