Pillion rider dies after lorry runs over her in Attibele

BENGALURU: A woman riding pillion on a two-wheeler died after a lorry hit their vehicle and ran over her head on the Attibele-TVS Road on the outskirts of the city on Thursday morning. The victim was identified as 40-year-old Shobha.

The incident happened early morning when the bike she was riding pillion on was hit by a lorry. The lorry’s wheel crushed her head, killing her instantly.

The accident has sparked outrage among locals, who blame the poor condition of the road for the tragedy. The Attibele-TVS road has been witnessing a surge in accidents, making it a death trap for two-wheeler riders. The police visited the spot, registered a case, and launched an investigation.

In another accident, a car collided with a school bus on Bannerghatta Road near Fortis Hospital. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

The car driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The accident occurred when the car driver allegedly tried to skip a traffic signal. The Hulimavu traffic police visited the spot and are investigating.
