MANGALURU: In a freak accident, a loaded pickup truck fell on a tiled-roof house after the driver lost control at Kurelu near Saradka in Bantwal taluk early today morning. A woman in the house was trapped and the police and locals had to struggle to rescue her.
The pickup truck was transporting live chicken when the driver lost control and the vehicle went off the edge of the road and fell on a house about 20 feet below the road surface. Several roof tiles of the house were also damaged.
The Vitla police visited the spot. The pickup truck was later lifted up with the help of a crane.
