MANDYA: The KR Pet police removed a speed breaker put up illegally on the state highway near Makonahalli Gate by the owner of a petrol bunk, who is also a local JD(S) leader. The police have given the bunk owner some time to get another illegal speed breaker removed.
When the police arrived on the scene to remove the speed breaker, the petrol bunk owner Shivalingu picked an argument with Circle Inspector Anande Gowda claiming that the PWD officials would remove it. In videos of the fracas doing the rounds, Shivalingu can be heard arguing with the police, questioning them why they had come and whether he had committed an act of murder.
After the argument, the police removed one of the speed breakers and left after giving the bunk owner a few days time to get another speed breaker removed on his own.
