BENGALURU: Henceforth, any group activity in Cubbon Park will require prior permission from the Horticulture and Police Departments.The Cubbon Park administration has released new guidelines, requiring prior approval for groups of more than 20 people.
A programme was organized by a reading club in Cubbon Park on Saturday without prior permission, under the name ‘Secret Santa’ and hundreds of people attended the event, causing noise pollution and prompting complaints. The park authorities seized all the books of the group, sparking outrage.
In recent days, the number of visitors to Cubbon Park has increased. Book lovers and literature enthusiasts usually visit the park in small groups on weekends. However, larger groups of more than 20 people have become more frequent, causing noise pollution. As a result, the new guidelines have been introduced.
