BENGALURU: People with less than 40 per cent disability can now get eligibility certificates in the state.
The Health Department has directed medical authorities to issue disability certificates and Unique Disability Identity (UDID) cards to individuals with less than 40 per cent disability.
According to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, there is no condition that the percentage of disability should be at least 40 per cent to issue a UDID card. Hence, the health authorities have been directed to issue disability certificates without further delay.
