Seers condole Hiraben’s demise; JSS mutt head takes part in last rites

UDUPI, MYSURU, RAICHUR: Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swami has condoled the death of Hiraben Modi, mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who passed away in Ahmedabad at the age of 100.

“Saddened to hear about the PM’s bereavement. Hiraben had lived for 100 years. We pray to Lord Sri Krishna that he give her children the strength to bear with the loss and that the departed soul attains Sadgathi”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Suttur JSS Mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, who was in Ahmedabad, took part in the last rites of Hiraben on Friday. The Suttur seer had arrived in Ahmedabad two days ago to participate in some programmes.

The seer of the Raghavendra Swami Mutt at Mantralaya, Subhudenda Theertha Swami has aslo expressed his condolences saying that the bond between Hiraben and her children was unique and prayed for the family to bear the loss.

Adichunchanagiri Mutt seer Dr Nirmalanandanatha Swami also expressed his condolences saying, “India has lost a leading light who gave the country a capable Prime Minister in Narendra Modi. The values she gave her children are commendable. May God give Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the family members the strength to bear with the loss and eternal peace to the departed”.
