CHAMARAJANAGAR: A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Arepura Gate in Gundlupet taluk on Friday night. The identity of the deceased was not established immediately.
The pedestrian was walking along the road when an unidentified vehicle ploughed into him from behind, flinging him in the air. When he fell on the road, the vehicle ran over his abdomen.
The seriously injured man was given preliminary treatment at Begur and rushed to the KR Hospital in Mysuru, but died enroute in the ambulance.
The post-mortem examination was conducted at KR Hospital. The Begur police have registered a case and are making efforts to identify the deceased and locate the killer vehicle.
