CHAMARAJANAGAR: A pedestrian died on spot after he was knocked down by a speeding lorry near Madhuvanahalli in Kollegal taluk on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Basavanna (55), hailing from Nanjanagud.
A devotee of Lord Male Mahadeshwara, Basavanna was heading towards Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur taluk on foot when a lorry coming from behind knocked him down, killing him on the spot.
Kollegal Rural police have arrested the lorry driver and registered a case.
