Pavithra Gowda walks out of Parappana jail, visits temple

BENGALURU: Six months after she was arrested in the Renukaswamy murder case, the main accused, Pavithra Gowda, was released from Parappana Agrahara jail on Tuesday.

She was granted bail by the High Court last Friday. A single-judge bench of the High Court, headed by Justice S Vishwajit Shetty, had granted her bail.

She was released from jail on Tuesday morning after all the bail procedures were completed on Monday. Pavithra Gowda, along with 14 other accused, was granted bail on certain conditions. Each of them had to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and provide two sureties for the same amount.

After the arrest of the the accused, the prosecution could not effectively state why they need to remain incarcerated. Therefore, the court, in its 68-page verdict, stated that all the bail applications are being granted.

After her release from jail, Pavithra Gowda visited the Vajramuneshwara Temple in Talaghattapura, their family deity, along with her mother. She performed a special puja.

During the puja, Pavithra’s mother, Bhagya, performed a special prayer in the name of Darshan. The family then returned to their residence in RR Nagar.
