BENGALURU: Parents staged a protest after girls were allegedly tortured and assaulted at the Jamia Ayisha Siddiqua Al-Banat Madrasa in Ramakrishna Hegde Nagar, on Wednesday night. The school provides education and accommodation to Muslim girls.
The accused, 19-year-old Mohammed Hasan, assaulted the girl after she allegedly wasted rice. He kicked her and brutally beat her up. The incident allegedly occurred when the accused called them to the office and assaulted them. The entire incident was caught on CCTV cameras.
A man complained on social media seeking seeking action against the accused, who assaulted Madras girl students, toouched them inappropriately and misbehaved with them. He also tagged the Commissioner of Police, ACP and DCP.
When the parents came to know about the matter, they went to the madrasa and beat up accused. After a couple of days, the management even called them to a mosque to settle the isue, saying that there was no need to file a complaint.
The police took swift action and arrested the accused. The parents alleged that the madrasa was being run without a license and that hundreds of children were being accommodated there. They also accused the madrasa authorities of trying to cover up the incident.
Northeast Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Sajeeth said a complaint was filed by the parents and an FIR has been registered under BNS 115(2) and Section 75 of the JJ Act. Hasan is also in charge of the madrasa’s hostel. The accused has been arrested, and an investigation is under way, and further action will be taken accordingly, the officer said.
