RAMANAGARA: A paramedical student, who had been reported missing, was found dead in the Singarajipura lake in Channapatna taluk on Friday. The deceased is Mahalakshmi (20), who hailed from Ambarahalli in Maddur taluk and it is suspected that she may have committed suicide.
Mahalakshmi was a student of the Ramanagara Institute of Paramedical Science and had gone missing on Thursday afternoon. Later that evening, her bag and ID card were found near the Singarajipura lake following which the Fire and Emergency Services personnel launched a search in the water body.
The resumed on Friday morning and the body was fished out. While it is suspected that she may have committed suicide, the reason for ending her life was not immediately known. A CCTV camera nearby had captured Mahalakshmi walking past while heading to the lake. The Akkur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
