Padarayanapura’s link with Lord Ram: See photos

BENGALURU: Padarayanapura in the city has a connection to Lord Shri Ram. It is believed that a large footprint that can bee seen at the Padarayana Temple in Padarayanapura is that of Lord Ram himself.

The demon king Ravana kidnapped Sita in the disguise of a sanyasi when Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman were away from their home during their 14-year stay in the forests.

It is believed Lord Ram visited the bank of the Vrishabhavati river in Bengaluru when he went looking for Sita. The footprint found in Padarayanapura is believed to have formed when he was passing through. Since then, the place is popularly known as Padarayanapura.
