BALLARI: In a major crackdown, the police and Food and Civil Supplies authorities have busted an illegal gas refilling operation at Prashant Nagar in Ballari city, where domestic LPG cylinders were being used to refill autorickshaws. Over 50 domestic gas cylinders and a gas refilling machine were seized while the accused Ramaswamy, was arrested.
The raid, conducted by food inspectors with police assistance, was carried out bases on specific information about the illicit activity. The accused was found to be refilling autorickshaws from domestic cylinders and selling them at inflated prices.
A case has been registered at the Ballari Rural police station, and further investigation is under way.
