Over 300 ill in Harapanahalli village, health officials seem unaware

Many people in the village have fallen sick.

DAVANAGERE: Over 300 residents of Sattur Gollarahatti in Harapanahalli taluk have fallen sick, with symptoms of fever, cough and cold. Contaminated water and poor drainage is suspected to be the reason as the village does not have access to clean drinking water.

The village is part of the Lakshmipura gram panchayat whose president if Bharat, son of former minister P T Parameshwar. However, the health authorities have turned a blind eye to the prevailing situation in the village.

Residents of the village have demanded that a health camp be conducted and have sought the attention of the authorities concerned and elected respresentatives.
