More than 30 students of the school fell ill.

MYSURU: More than 30 students of a school at Bomanahalli in Hunsur taluk fell ill after eating leftover cake on Friday. They were rushed to the Ayushman Arogya Mandira in the village with complaints of vomiting and diarrhoea and have recovered now.

The Manjunatha Vidya Samsthe authorities had cut a cake to celebrate New Year’s Day. Two days later, the leftover cake was again distributed to the students, leading them to fall sick.

The Block Education Officer took the school principal to task at the health facility itself.

Block Education Officer Mahadev, who visited the health facility to inquire about the children, took the school principal Ashwath to task for negligence.
