BENGALURU: Sixteen passengers were arrested by the Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and 3.311 kg of gold were seized from them in four different instances.
The arrested include five men and 11 women who arrived from Sharjah, Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur. The seizures were made on December 23, 24, 25 and 26.
The value of the seized gold is said to be over Rs 2 crore and was hidden in clothes, inner wear and socks of the arrested passengers.
