BENGALURU: Over 20 passengers are feared dead and several others critically injured after a Bengaluru-bound private bus, carrying around 40 passengers on board, caught fire in the early hours of Friday in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
The private bus, travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, was completely gutted, turning into ashes within minutes after it was hit by a two-wheeler coming from behind. According to sources, 12 passengers managed to escape through the emergency exit, breaking the glass.

Rescue operations are under way. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and President Draupadi Murmu have condoled the loss of lives in the incident.
