RAMANAGARA: More than 20 passengers were injured after a KSRTC bus rammed into a parked truck on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway near Solur in Magadi taluk on Saturday. The driver of the bus was in serious condition.
The bus was on its way from Hassan to Bengaluru when it rammed into the truck from behind. The truck had suffered a flat tyre and was parked by the roadside. Due to the impact, the front portion of the KSRTC bus was completely crushed.
The bus driver, who was stuck in the mangled metal, was rescued by locals who brought in an excavator to tear out the dashboard of the bus. The injured were shifted to the government hospital in Nelamangala for treatment. The Solur police, who visited the spot, have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
