TUMAKURU: More than 20 people fell ill due to suspected food poisoning during a religious event, at Nagenahalli tanda in Pavagada taluk on Wednesday.
The victims had consumed food at the neighbouring Srirangapura tanda after which they developed symptoms of diarrrhoea and vomiting. They were immediately shifted to the taluk hospital in Pavagada.
Local MLA Venkatesh visited the hospital and inquired about the condition of the affected. Officials from the local administration also visited Nagenahalli tanda and confirmed that the water is safe for drinking after conducting tests.
