RAICHUR: More than 20 people have taken ill after consuming nonvegetarian food at a religious event at Parampoora thanda in Lingasugur taluk on Wednesday evening.
After consuming the food on Wednesday afternoon, some of the villagers, mainly children and the aged, complained of vomiting and diarrhoea in the evening. Ten of those seriously affected were immediately rushed to the taluk hospital in Lingasugur.
The rest are being treated in the village itself and taluk health officer Amaresh visited the village and is taking care of the treatment. There are about 250 families living in the thanda.
