RAMANAGARA: The police on Saturday raided a private homestay in Kaggalipura where a rave party was being held and detained over 100 young men and women, some of whom were found to be under the influence of drugs.

The rave party, which was organised without permission, had participants from Bengaluru, mostly between the ages of 19 and 23. The police raided the homestay based on a tip-off and seized several items, including injections suspected to be narcotics.

Medical tests were also conducted on the detained individuals. Four people were arrested for organizing the party, and cases were registered against them. Initial investigation revealed that the party was organised through a WhatsApp group called ‘GenZ’, where participants were charged an entry fee.

The event was held at Ayyan Retreat Homestay on Tagachipura road, which did not have the necessary permissions to host such an event. The police have taken action against the organisers and are investigating the source of the narcotics.

Ramanagara SP Srinivas Gowda said, “We received information that an illegal homestay had been opened in Kaggalipura police station limits and a party was being organised without permission, causing disturbance to the neighbours. Based on this information, a raid was conducted under the leadership of the Kaggalipura police inspector.

“Around 100 people were present at the party, including 35 young women, three minors and 70 young men. Some of them were found to be under the influence of drugs, and a few injection-like substances were seized from the spot. We have taken them into custody and sent them for testing. A case has been registered against four organizers of the event. All the students have undergone medical tests, and after verifying their addresses, they have been released. The investigation is ongoing”, the SP added.
