CHIKKABALLAPUR: One PU college student died and ten others including an autorickshaw were badly injured when the three-wheeler hit a multi-axle truck early today morning at Nagappa Block Circle in Gouribidanur taluk. The deceased was identified as Vanaja (18), who died enroute to a hospital in Bengaluru.
Ten PUC II students of the Municipal College were travelling in the autorickshaw when the accident occurred. While some of the injured were rushed to the government hospital in Gouribidanur, the autorickshaw driver and three students, who had sustained serious injuries, were shifted to Bengaluru for treatment.
Due to the collision, the autorickshaw was completely crushed. The injured students are from Doddakurugodu village. Among the injured, auto driver Srinivas, Lokesh (19), Vennila, Sahana, Triveni, Pavithra and Roshni sustained serious head injuries.
