One more train set to be added to metro yellow line next week

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has some good for commuters who take the Yellow Line of Namma Metro. Starting next week, a fourth train will be added to the Yellow Line, increasing the frequency of trains.

Currently, only three train sets are operating on this line, resulting in a wait time of around 25 minutes for passengers. The fourth train set has already arrived in Bengaluru and is expected to hit the tracks by the second week of September. With the addition of this train, the frequency of trains will increase to every 15-20 minutes.

The Namma Metro’s Yellow Line is currently witnessing a milestone of over one lakh passengers per day. However, with only three trains operating, passengers have been facing inconvenience. The addition of the fourth train will ease the commute and reduce wait times.

Furthermore, a fifth train set from Kolkata is expected to arrive in October, and subsequently, one train set will be added every month. By March 2026, all trains for the Yellow Line are expected to arrive, and the frequency of trains will increase to every five minutes, similar to the Green and Purple lines.
