MANGALURU: The Bantwal Rural police have arrested one more accused in the murder of pickup truck driver Abdul Rahiman from Rayi in Bantwal. The arrested is Shivaprasad, a resident of Bantwal Tumbe village.
With Shivaprasad’s arrest, the total number of accused arrested so far has gone up to nine. He was produced before a court which handed him to police custody for questioning.
On May 27, Abdul Rahiman was brutally attacked with a sword and hacked to death while Kalandar was severely injured at Irakodi. Abdul Rahim and Kalandar were unloading sand from the pickup vehicle when two miscreants arrived on a bike and attacked them with a sword. Abdul Rahim died on the spot while Kalandar was rushed to a hospital.
