One floor of building damaged in LPG cylinder blast near Bommanahalli

BENGALURU: One entire floor of a building at Kittaganhalli near Bommasandra completely collapsed following an LPG cylinder explosion. Two people, who were injured in the incident, are being treated at a hospital nearby.

The injured have been identified as Vishwa, who hailed from Kerala, and Sunil Jadhav from Tamil Nadu, who worked at Narayana Hrudayalaya. The condition of both is critical. They were living in the building, which belonged to Sunil from Jayanagar.

The blast  occurred around 8.30 am on Monday. One of them was taking bath to get ready for work when the cylinder blast occurred. The impact was so severe that the second person fell from the second floor.

The blast was so severe that pillars of the building, four other buildings, three cars and six two-wheelers were damaged in the incident. The fire department and police are investigating the incident.

The injured are currently being treated at Narayana Hrudayalaya. It is suspected that the blast may have occurred due to a gas leak when the lights were turned on in the morning. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Surya Nagar police station.
