One dies after pickup truck ploughs into group of 3 students out for morning walk

RAICHUR: A student of a government residential school at Turvihal died on Friday while two others are undergoing treatment for their injuries after a pickup truck ploughed into them while they were on a morning walk on Thursday.

Abhishek, Venkatesh and Ramesh, students of the Ambedkar residential school at Turvihal were taking a stroll when they were knocked down by a pickup truck. All three were rushed to hospital, but Abhishek, an SSLC student, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning at a hospital in Dharward.

Meanwhile, Ramesh and Venkatesh are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sindhagi. Following the incident, the school principal Gangappa, physical education teacher Dhavalsaab and the hostel warden have been placed under suspension.
