MANDYA: A man died while a woman was seriously injured after a KSRTC bus collided with a car, near Machahalli village in Maddur taluk on Friday. Over 10 people in the bus also sustained minor injuries.
The accident occurred when the bus, which was travelling from Chamundeshwari Temple in Channapatna to Maddur, collided with a car going from Maddur towards Tumakuru. The car driver lost control, leading to the collision.
The car driver died on the spot, while the woman was seriously injured and was referred to Mandya’s MIMS hospital for further treatment.
Locals were enraged when the ambulance failed to arrive despite calls and they staged a protest. The Kestur police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
