DAVANAGERE: One person died and four others sustained injuries after a car collided with a parked lorry near Masanikere village in Channagiri taluk on Monday. While Umesh died on the spot, Mallikarjun, Malatesh, Avinash, and Yasin Khan were seriously injured.
The injured were initially treated at the Channagiri taluk hospital and later referred to Shivamogga for further treatment. The accident occurred when the group was travelling to Davangere for a friend’s wedding. A case has been registered at the Channagiri police station.
In another incident, a farmer, identfied as Narappa (30) died after falling under a tractor rotavator at Diddigi village in Jagalur taluk on Sunday. The incident occurred when Narappa was ploughing his field with a tractor rotavator.
Narappa fell off the tractor while sitting next to the driver and got caught in the rotavator, resulting in severe head and body injuries, resulting in his death on the spot. A case has been registered at the Bilichodu police station.
