MYSURU: One person died and 12 others were taken ill after consuming contaminated water at Bettahalli village in Saligrama taluk on Tuesday night. The victim was identified as 65-year-old Govinde Gowda.
The affected were immediately rushed to the community health centre at Saligrama, but Govinde Gowda did not survive. The other were shifted to the district hospital.
The other affected complained of vomiting and diarrhoea. It is suspected that contaminated water was supplied to houses from the water tank in the village. Doctors from the taluk hospital visited the village and conducted health check-up for the residents.
