BENGALURU: Some private cab drivers are providing cab services through tie-up with aggregators as they get higher rent and a full-time job. But the companies are accused of taking advantage of this and doing injustice to the cab drivers.

Drivers are now expressing outrage at Ola and Uber companies and they warned about massive protests on Tuesday for doing injustice to them when they are on airport duty. The cab drivers allege that the aggregators are making more profits and paying them less.

The cab drivers have demanded that the authorities concerned hold discussons with Ola and Uber staff and resolve the issue. If the aggregators do not pay the rents properly, they will stop wok on Tuesday, the cab drivers warned.

Recently, the cab drivers had brought their problems to the attention of Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and alleged that Ola and Uber are doing injustice to them by paying less rent for their service.

Reacting to the issue, Minister Ramalinga Reddy said, “We are designing an app exclusively for this. It will be convenient for drivers in all ways. Earlier, in 2016, when I was Transport Minister, I had implemented new rules for these aggregator companies. Then, they went to court, questioning the rules, but it is still not sorted out”.
