BENGALURU: Aggregators like Ola, Uber, and Rapido have reduced their autorickshaw fares on Wednesday after the Karnataka High Court instructed the Transport Department to fix the fare.
The Ola, Uber and Rapido aggregators have reduced the minimum fare to Rs 45 for the first 2 kilometres. Earlier, they charged around Rs 80–100 as minimum fare for autorickshaws.
The Karnataka High Court had slammed Ola, Uber, and Rapido aggregators for violating the Transport Department rules and also for fixing their own fares. On the instructions of the court, the Transport Department had to fix the fares for Ola, Uber, and Rapido aggregators by November 7. The department will now have to submit a report on autorickshaw fares to the court at the next hearing.
