RAMANAGARA: A 19-year-old nursing student of a well-known institution at Harohalli in the taluk committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Anamika, hailing from Kannur in Kerala.
When she did not turn up for dinner, her friends went up to her room and found her hanging when they opened the door with another key. Anamika was pursuing her first year BSc course in nursing.
Anamika had reportedly been caught copying in an examination earlier and the college authorities had summoned her parents. On Wednesday, students of the college staged a protest alleging that the management authorities were harassing her mentally and demanded action against them.
