RAICHUR: Two students of the Navodaya School and College of Nursing here were attacked by another student with an iron rod right in the classroom in the teacher’s presence over disfiguring a WhatsApp status picture.
While one the injured required 12 stitches, the other was injured in the forehead. All three are first year students of BSc Nursing course at the institute.
It is said that Rohit had posted a picture his mother on her birthday which was allegedly misused by Shankar and Shambulinga. Also, the duo used to regularly taunt Rohit.
Angered by their behaviour, Rohit went to the terrace of the college building, brought an iron rod and hit the duo in the presence of the teacher. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the classroom and the corridor.
The college principal said all three students have been rusticated and their parents informed. While the attacker was handed over to the police, the injured duo is being treated at the institute hospital.
