CHITRADURGA: The police have arrested one more person in connection with the alleged sex assault of minors at Murugha Mutt here. Paramashivaiah, who is secretary at the mutt, was arrested and produced before the Additional District and Sessions Court on Saturday.
Paramashivaiah has been remanded to judicial custody till November 3. He was arrested after an inquiry was conducted at the DySP office. Paramashivaiah’s medical tests were conducted at the Chitradurga district hospital before he was produced at the court.
Considering Paramashivaiah’s health issues, the court has directed the prison authorities to provide proper medical facilities and food, following a request from his advocate.
The main accused in the case, Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru, is likely to be taken into police custody on Saturday with the court’s permission.
The investigation into the second POCSO case, which was registered on October 13, is being led by Rural Police Station CPI Balachandra Naik.
