Three labourers were thrashed with pipes at a hollow blocks manufacturing unit in Vijayapura district.

VIJAYAPURA: Days after a video of a brick kiln owner thrashing some labourers with pipes and wooden logs went viral, another undated video of three workers being beaten up at a hollow blocks unit is now doing the rounds.

In the video, three labourers are asked to stretch their arm and are being with pipes on their palms. The labourers were also asked to rub their palms in hot sand. However, the provocation for the act and the exact location where the incident occurred was not immediately known.

The workers were made to rub their palms on hot sand after they were beaten up.

In a recent case, five people were arrested for beating three labourers on the soles of their feet with pipes and wooden logs. The arrested are brick kiln owner Khemu Rathod, his son Rohan Rathod, Sachin Manavar, Vishal Jumanal and Kanakamurthy.

All the accused were produced before a judge on Tuesday evening by the Vijayapura Rural police who remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
