Notice issued to actor Nagabhushan to appear before police on October 3

BENGALURU: Two days after actor Nagabhushan’s car was involved in an accident accident, which left one woman dead and her husband seriously injured, his blood sample report has come negative for alcohol consumption. The Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police have instructed him to present himself on October 3 for further questioning.

At present, the injured Krishna (58) is being treated at the hospital while his wife Prema (48) died enroute to hospital. Nagabhushan had admitted that he was driving at a high speed, and could not control the vehicle as he did not notice the couple entering the road from the footpath.

Earlier, the police had checked him for drunk driving at the incident site, but alcohol consumption was not detected. The traffic police conducted a thorough inspection of the place. There is a turn right behind the accident site and speedbreaker on the road just before the turn. The car would have had to ideally slow down at this point, but Nagabhushan knocked down the couple, who were on the footpath.

In the preliminary investigation, police found the car, an automatic transmission, was at a speed of 40 kmph and it was dark where the couple walking. When he saw them, he suddenly hit the accelerator and hit them and then hit an electricity pole. The police are verifying the driver’s licence, car registration certificate, insurance, road tax among other things and further investigation is under way.
