CHIKKABALLAPUR: Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar, who showed up in the Kannada reality show ‘Bigg Boss Season-10’ as a contestant, had sparked criticism on social media, with even opposition leaders disapproving of it. Earlier, it was rumoured that Pradeep Eshwar would stay in BB House as a contestant, but it has now emerged that he had entered as a guest appearance for a few hours and not as a contestant. He has come out of the house.

The MLA faced a lot of backlash in political circles after a promo for the show went on air. Former BJP minister Dr K Sudhakar criticised Pradeep Eshwar publicly, questioning the need for Pradeep Eshwar to participate in the Bigg Boss show. “Pradeep is the first MLA in the history of Chikkaballapur constituency to enter the Big Boss reality show and it had brought negative attention to Chikkaballapur constituency”, Dr Sudhakar said.

Later, MLA Pradeep Eshwar clarified after he came out of the house and explained the intention behind his participation. Speaking to Public TV, Pradeep Eshwar on Tuesday said the agreement between the channel and him was that he will be present only for a few hours. He said, “I was in the Bigg Boss house only for two or three hours”.

Pradeep  further said, “There is nothing wrong with participating in TV channel programmes. I went to the Bigg Boss house only for two or three hours. I went to encourage the contestants there. I inspired the contestants, gave them courage and confidence. I don’t know why this become contrived. If I had been there a hundred days, they could have criticised me, but I had gone for three hours”.

He defended his participation by claiming that he entered the house for a charitable cause. “I am a fan of Dr Rajkumar. I danced to his song, ‘Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku’. I feel there is nothing wrong with dancing. I do not care much about those who speak negatively about me”, Pradep lashed out at his detractors.

A complaint was submitted by Vande Mataram Social Service Organisation to Speaker U T Khader urging that MLA Pradeep Eshwar be sacked from the Assembly.
