MANDYA: Minorities Affairs Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan on Sunday responded to speculation about a change of guard in the state and said that there is no vacancy for the Chief Minister’s position currently held by Siddaramaiah.
Speaking in Mandya, Zameer Ahmed dismissed the possibility of a change in chief ministers saying that Chandrashekar Swami’s opinion was personal. “There is no need to discuss the matter now, it will be addressed when the time comes”, he said.
He said the swamiji’s opinion could not be wrong and that the high command had already decided to retain Siddaramaiah as CM. He pointed out that various communities like Vokkaligas, Lingayats and Dalits were discussing about the situation, but said there was nothing wrong with that.
Zameer reiterated that their party follows the high command’s decisions and would not cross the line. When asked about a potential change in the CM, he declined to comment, saying he was unaware of any such development.
Also, KPCC president and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar had on Saturday cautioned ministers and MLAs against reacting to this issue in the media.
